Collection is composed of documents and photographs relating to the Freeman family of Kalamazoo, Mich. and includes a wealth of documents from daily life and around Kalamazoo Michigan such as report cards, marriage certificates, obituaries, holiday/birthday cards, telegrams, advertisements, diplomas, newspaper clippings, calling cards, and envelopes. The collection also includes Civil War letters dated June 1862 from James Island to Harriet Lewis; July 1863 from George Lewis to Harriet Lewis; August 1863 from George Lewis to Harriet Lewis. The photographs include photos of the Freeman, Hart, Cook, and Shackleton families. Additional family names include Lewis, Corwin, Burrell, Mull, and Bender.
